Tellico

This is from a camping trip two summers ago. Tellico is my favorite place in Tennessee. My husband and I have been camping there for thirty years. The biggest change we've seen is the main road is now paved. It's grown in popularity too. In the early years we had the mountain mostly to ourselves. We simply parked somewhere and set up a tent. Our dogs didn't even know what a leash was. Now all camping is in designated areas. And it's best to arrive early to make sure you get one of those designated spots. Fortunately my husband knows the mountain pretty well and can still find us some great, and less known camping spots. We camped beside this creek.

I am so anxious for warm weather to return.

Connie, do you all go way back up into the mountain to camp??? We love that area also. There are even cabins up there in a place --called ??? (can't think of it)... We took that road up there as far as a 'car' could go. There were campers all over the place up there and the creeks were fabulous.

Have a great week.
Hugs,
Betsy

The pictures here are from what's called the Citaco side of Tellico. Have you been to Bald River Falls? In our early years we did our camping near the falls.
