Every so often Mom and I will take a day to visit with with family members. Originally there were eleven siblings, now there are four girls left, including Mom. It's sad, so many wonderful aunts and uncles are no longer with us.

Parrott Mountain

We had a blast at Parrott Mountain this weekend. So many different birds. The best part is you're allowed to interact with the birds. Totally awesome.

I was a little concerned Mom would be scared of the birds, but she loved it.

another Sunday afternoon at the cabin

Sunday afternoons at the cabin isn't all rest and relaxation. The last two Sunday afternoons we spent some time picking poke. Mom will spend monday morning cooking it down and freezing it for future use. This bag will cook down to appx. 3 quarts.

Sunday afternoon trip to the cabin

Pepper seems to know that when grandma is around the rule about jumping up on the furniture does not apply. I guess it's easy to forget when grandma is coaxing you into breaking the rules.

The lake is a little less visible in the spring and summer.
